A lot of people still believe that vaping is similarly harmful as smoking cigarettes, and this is because of information released by the FDA and reports of the media to the masses. We are going to discuss if vaping is bad for us and if smokers who made the switch to vaping have had a positive experience.
Studies were made investigating the effectiveness of e-cigarettes compared to nicotine replacement products and therapies. This study took 886 randomly selected smokers who were split into two groups. One group was provided a variety of nicotine replacement therapy treatments while the other group was given an 18mg of e-liquid and an e-cigarette starter kit. The results showed that 18 percent were able to quit cigarette smoking as opposed to the 9 percent using traditional nicotine replacement therapy treatments.
Evidence and Vaping

The reason why people do not want to make the transition to e-cigarettes is because of the portrayal of the government and media on vaping as a lousy alternative for quitting traditional cigarette smoking.
If you search for news on vaping on the internet, you will see a lot of negative press regarding vaping and even headlines where an e-cigarette accidentally explodes and seriously injures a user. As the popularity of vaping increases, the US government is now trying to include e-cigarettes in the master settlement agreement. The profits from cigarette sales will be split with the government.
Change in Direction

However, it is a different story in the US with the FDA focusing on campaigns trying to stop adolescents from vaping. This is a smart way to redirect the issue while still providing a stand on vaping, which results in keeping the big tobacco companies and the government being happy.
